MARTHA MARISA WANAT is a political entrepreneur, sustainable mobility consultant, singer and speaker. She grew up in Düsseldorf and lives in Berlin.
In 2022 her first book 'Bewegt Euch. Selber!' ('Move. Yourselves!') was published in the renowned publishing house 'Hanser': a scientific, political and entrepreneurial manifesto for an ecosystemically thinking city of self-movement. She studied economics, politics and cultural studies at Zeppelin University where she also worked as a student assistant in the 'Staff Department for University Innovations'. Besides her studies, she was also the chairwoman of the 'ROCK YOUR LIFE! Friedrichshafen e.V.', a non-profit educational initiative for more equal education opportunities through mentoring between students and pupils. ENTREPRENEURSHIP Martha is part of the founding team of Young Leaders Academy (in partnership with URBAN FUTURE), a value-driven education and consulting collective by and for the next generation of sustainable urban development. As Collective Energy Organizer in an interdisciplinary team of young professionals she is in charge of strategy, cooperations & partnerships and the educational program. She is founder and managing partner of MOND - Mobility New Designs and Society for Urban Mobility BICICLI. The company was awarded, among others, the 'German Bicycle Award', the 'Future Mobility Award' (Tagesspiegel) and the 'Innovation Award of the German Trade'. ENGAGEMENT She is an honorary member of the 'Corporate Responsibility Network' of the Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which stands for value-driven business practices that seek to reconcile economic performance, social responsibility and the regenerative capacity of the environment. As a sustainability ambassador and political advisor to the Chamber, Martha Wanat is concerned with the future of entrepreneurship and socially valuable business models. As founder of a political company that stands for both a value-added business model and sustainable service, she volunteers for the grassroots movement 'Brand New Bundestag', which accompanies a new generation of progressive politicians into the German Bundestag. Martha Wanat is closely connected to the Technische Universität Berlin through her collaboration in the initiative 'Stadtmanufaktur Berlin', a transdisciplinary research format between science and practice to solve complex urban challenges, as well as through her studies in 'Theory and History of Science and Technology'. MUSIC Being a child of two musicians she has been singing since before she started speaking, and has since practiced a variety of vocal styles from classical vocal training to 'Complete Vocal Technique' (CPH). As singing part of the duo fusión with jazz guitarist Alexander von Schlieffen she sings mainly Bossa Nova, Jazz, Flamenco-inspired music and RnB. |
