MARTHA MARISA WANAT is a political entrepreneur, sustainable mobility expert, singer, author and speaker. She lives in Berlin and Mexico-City.
In 2022 her first book 'Bewegt Euch. Selber!' ('Move. Yourselves!') was published in the renowned publishing house 'Hanser': a scientific, political and entrepreneurial manifesto for an ecosystemically thinking city of self-movement. She studied economics, politics and cultural studies at Zeppelin University where she also worked as a student assistant in the 'Staff Department for University Innovations'. In 2023 and 2024 she has been living in Mexico City for the sake of research at Univesidad Nacional Autónoma de México, looking – with a philosophical focus – at the future of expertise and its communication between science and politics, economy and society. ENTREPRENEURSHIP Martha is part of the founding team of Next Generation Academy, an international value-driven education and consulting collective by and for the next generation of sustainable urban development. In an interdisciplinary team of young professionals she is in charge of strategy, cooperations & partnerships and the educational programme. She is founder and was managing partner of MOND – Mobility New Designs and Society for Urban Mobility BICICLI. The company was awarded, among others, the 'German Bicycle Award', the 'Future Mobility Award' (Tagesspiegel) and the 'Innovation Award of the German Trade'. MUSIC Being a child of two musicians she has been singing since before she started speaking, and has since practiced a variety of vocal styles from classical vocal training to Complete Vocal Technique (CPH). As singing part of the duo fusión nova with jazz guitarist Alexander von Schlieffen she sings Bossa Nova, Hispanic Contemporary and Jazz. |
